Social media is not a place that is known for bringing out the more intelligent sides of people. Between the endless echo chamber and the desire for clout, it encourages many of its users to go to extremely dumb lengths. While this happens almost everywhere that a lot of us use the internet, it is especially prevalent on TikTok. There is just something about its devious algorithm that seems to encourage the stupidest of trends, and set a precedent for many ridiculous and dangerous 'challenges'. It's hard to believe that some of the things that have got popular on the platform are real or genuine, and indeed some of them have probably been made worse by the media whipping up a frenzy. Even still, none of the examples below are a great look. There are plenty of things that we can do for the views without endangering ourselves or others.
